Land Acknowledgment
We are grateful to live off the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Coast Salish First Nations. We acknowledge and honor their enduring connection to this land, which has and continues to sustain them and provide life, love, and health to us all. With gratitude in our hearts, we commit to learning from and uplifting the voices of Indigenous communities.
FlowBox acknowledges the sacred land on which we work, Turtle Island, the unceded and ancestral territories of the Musqueam, the Squamish, the Coast Salish, and many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Metis peoples.
We acknowledge that Vancouver is unceded and has not surrendered. FlowBox recognizes and honors the many nations of Indigenous People and their enduring connection to this land known as Turtle Island.
Land Acknowledgements are only a basic first step to addressing the ongoing health inequities, systemic injustice, and genocide faced by Indigenous Peoples. We must remember that these lands are Indigenous, and Land Back is the action following acknowledgment.
We recognize that Indigenous sovereignty is linked to our collective liberation. As settlers, it is paramount that we continue to reflect on ways that we can mobilize and take action in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples and communities.
FlowBox recognizes and supports the call for action from the Final Report of the National Inquiry Into Missing And Murdered Indigenous Women And Girls, the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and theTruth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.
